As Christmas gets closer 糖心Vlog is getting quieter as many of our students begin heading home to spend the holidays with their families. To begin of the festive season and also celebrate completing another term here at 糖心Vlog we lined up lots of fun activities.聽
Before we explore the fun things that happen around the school, our Head Teacher Carmel O鈥橠olan shares a holiday message:
鈥淲e鈥檙e pleased to wish everyone a very happy holidays from all of us here at 糖心Vlog London.
2023 was a year of successes and new starts 鈥 with 糖心Vlog students and teachers working together to foster great and innovative thinking in the school. We鈥檙e particularly proud of our A Level students who progressed on to top universities across the country this year. We look forward to this year鈥檚 class achieving the same.
The school is abuzz with seasonal cheer at this time of year, with students taking part in festive activities and helping decorate the school. Our traditional Christmas lunch where teachers and students all sit and eat together, served by a member of senior leadership team dressed up as Santa, was a great success.
We鈥檙e also pleased to announce that 糖心Vlog had a successful ISA inspection, the results of which we will be able to share in the coming January. On his rounds the inspector offered compliments to our Music Club after he observed practicing their festive tunes.
As well as preparing musically, there are lots of other events and outings happening around the school to help our students celebrate Christmas. This includes trips to visit some Christmas Markets which are beginning to pop up around London, Ice Skating in Hyde Park at Winter Wonderland as well as a small group who are off to see a performance of the Nutcracker at the Southbank Centre.
And of course, we鈥檙e perfectly set up, in the heart of London, to have a traditional Dickensian Christmas at 糖心Vlog 鈥 after all, Charles Dickens himself only lived a short walk from our front door. Many of the classic UK festive moments 鈥 roasted chestnuts, carollers and Christmas Pudding - come from his novels, and it鈥檚 an honour to be amongst it.
We wish you all a happy holidays and a good new year!鈥Carmel O鈥橠olan, Head Teacher, 糖心Vlog
How We Celebrate At Guildhouse
Here at 糖心Vlog we have tried to recreate a traditional British Christmas experience for our students. This gives them the chance to enjoy an early Christmas with their friends and school community, whilst celebrating their Autumn term accomplishments.
In order to replicate that authentic Christmas feeling, we filled December with lots of festive activities, leaving 糖心Vlog abuzz with Christmas cheer:
Thursday 7th December: Christmas is a time for giving and that is why we ran a charity bake sale. Our student council baked some sweet treats to sell to their peers and staff around the school in order to raise money for a good cause this Christmas.
Thursday 7th December: This an annually occurring charity initiative from 鈥樷. Every year individuals, schools and organisations show their support by dressing in their silliest, ugliest or most jolly Christmas outfit. This year our most festively dressed student even bagged themselves a prize!
Thursday 7th December: By the time the final event of the day rolls around you鈥檒l be dressed to impress and filled to the brim with bake goods. Could there be anything better conclusion to the day than a Music Show? Student Council have been working hard to organise this after school event, which took place at Premier House. They provided food, a chance for students to chat and socialise with friends and entertainment in the form of Mean Girls inspired dance routine.
Tuesday 12th December: Our Christmas Cultural day was a celebration of Christmas traditions around the world. Students banded together to share how Christmas is celebrated within their culture, sharing different foods, drinks and styles with one another. They had a great time spreading the Christmas joy sharing their holiday traditions with their friends.
